Breast Implant Awareness

My Breast Implant Illness Story and

How Removing Them Changed My Life

"Thinking About Explanting?
Here's What I Wish I Knew Sooner."

If you’re here because you’re questioning your breast implants…
I see you. I was you. And I want you to know: you’re not alone, and you’re not crazy.

I got my implants when I was 20 — before I understood the risks, before I knew how deeply our bodies can hold onto the things we put in them. At the time, it felt like the right thing. It felt like confidence. It felt like control.

But over time, the symptoms began creeping in — slowly, subtly, and then all at once:
  • Debilitating fatigue

  • Brain fog that made me feel disconnected from life

  • Constant inflammation, soreness, and pain

  • Gut issues that no clean diet could fix

  • Trouble taking deep breaths

  • Hormonal imbalances

  • And a feeling deep in my body that something wasn’t right

For 12.5 years, I carried this weight — emotionally and physically. I spent years trying to “optimize” my health, chasing symptoms, trying new supplements, protocols, workouts, diets. But nothing ever fully worked.

Until I started questioning the implants themselves.

When I learned about Breast Implant Illness (BII), it was like everything finally made sense. The stories from other women mirrored my own. The symptoms matched. The timeline aligned. And most importantly — the intuition I had tried to quiet for so long finally had a voice.

If you’re on the fence about explanting,
here’s what I want you to know:

  • You are not imagining your symptoms.

  • You do not need to wait until things get “worse.”

  • Explanting is not giving up — it’s choosing YOU.

  • It’s okay to grieve the change and still know it’s the right decision.

  • Your health is worth everything.

  • Podcasts and stories from other women (Wellness Mama with Katie Wells, Killer Boobies with Wendy Bunnell, Leslie Smoot, and Brandy Vega, The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Show - with Lauren and Michael Bosstick; Busting Free: How to Liberate Yourself from the Quest for Better Breasts by Dr. Amanda Savage Brown).

  • My explant surgeon: Dr. Clayton Crantford - Charleston, SC

  • Other surgeons I recommend: Dr. Bharti and Dr. Kortesis - Charlotte, NC; Dr. Rankin Jupiter, FL; Dr. Whitfield - Austin, TX; Dr. Chun Liu - Cleveland, OH; Dr. Jae Chun - Newport, CA

And if you ever need someone to talk to — someone who’s been there — my DMs are always open. 💛

This journey has been the most healing, humbling, and freeing decision I’ve made for my body. I don’t miss the fatigue. I don’t miss the pain. I don’t miss feeling like a stranger in my own skin.

And I definitely don’t miss the pressure to look a certain way just to feel “enough.”

You deserve to feel at home in your body again. And if your intuition is whispering, maybe it’s the implants — I promise you, that voice is worth listening to.
